On the other side of the factory from the Racking clean we recently completed our industrial cleaning team has been working hard to complete a high level clean on the factory. As the building work is drawing to a close we have been cleaning the ceilings and beams ahead of the machine fitters. It is important that  high level cleans in these environments are completed before machines are fitted as the cleaning process can sometimes dislodge dust which could fall into machinery at ground level and cause issues.

This week we are nearing completion of a High Level Clean in the Midlands. The site has recently had some building work carried out with some of their machinery being removed and replacements fitted. Of course all this work has involved lots of drilling and even some walls being removed to allow access for the machines to be removed.

Winter is here and all the water in the air makes more and more grime stick to the outside of buildings. It happens over a period of time, but sooner or later you will turn up at your premises and go ” that’s looking a bit tired and dirty”.

High Level Clean CheltenhamThis week we have completed a High Level Clean in Cheltenham, the clean was completed prior to the beams being painted as part building refurbishment works.

The beams over the past 6 years had been coated in oil that had settled from vapour released by machines used within the factory.

High level Cleaning Services CheltenhamWe have recently undertaken a High Level Clean in Cheltenham, the factory we were responsible for cleaning was a refurbished storage building. Most of the pipes and fittings in the ceiling were therefore new. You would expect a new building to have very little dust on up high, but with floors being sanded ready for paint, and blocks being cut dust soon makes its way into even the most hard to reach areas.

Warehouse Deep Clean CheltenhamDust can be a real problem in industrial environments, especially where sensitive machinery is present.

Dust can block sensors, and provide a huge fire hazard. Not only this, it is really unhealthy for anyone who works in the area to breath in dust throughout their shift.

A build up of dust is the reason we were recently called into a large warehouse in Cheltenham to deep clean the floors. Dust had built up and was constantly causing issues with machinery and costing the factory £1000′s in lost production time.

We have just completed some quite extensive works for Spirax Sarco, as previously posted the company are moving their offices to some temporary cabins whilst works are completed.

As well as the cabins some staff have been moved to additional temporary offices. We were given the task of cleaning these offices so as they are ready for use. The offices themselves have stood dormant for almost 2 years. So as you can imagine dust was everywhere and the windows where filthy. Some of the kitchen and canteen areas looked like they had been “abandoned” by the previous occupants.

High level clean complete at Spirax SarcoThe high level clean is complete and was finished in plenty of time before the arrival of the world record breaking Steam Car. In total the high level clean of the whole main warehouse took 5 evenings and was completed entirely out of working hours of the factory. The difference made was huge, breeze block walls that previously had black mortar lines where restored to the magnolia painted colour they should be, and all pipes and beams within the ceiling where returned to like new cleanliness.

Dirty air vent in need of high level cleaning

Air Vent Prior To cleaning

This week Starlight Cleaning has been contracted in to do a high level clean at Spirax Sarco in Cheltenham. We are using a Cherry Picker and IPAF qualified staff to clean all the beams, pipes, air vents and walls at night when the plant is closed as this causes little to no interference to the daily running of a very busy plant.

Over time, daily running of manufacturing plants and workshops produces dust that accumulates on pipes and beams within the ceiling space of workshops. This may not seem like a problem at first, but this dust can frequently come away and drop onto work spaces, landing on freshly painted surfaces and can cause other contaminations, potentially costing thousands. Another issue with having built up dust is that whenever an air current passes over dust, the particles are picked up and circulated within the air. This can cause all sorts of  breathing implications for staff working within the area, which can cause sickness and time off work, ultimately costing more money.
