Biohazard RemovalThis week Starlight Cleaning were called out to a cafe in Worcester, which was suffering with some plumbing problems, which had led to the need for a Biohazard Clean.

Some of the drains had backed up, and it was up to us to remove the “overflow” from the contaminated area safely. Fortunately the overflow was well away from the cafe its self, and was in one of the storage areas separate to the main building. However with anything like this it needs to be sorted as quickly as possible as having sewage around is very dangerous for anyone who could potentially come into contact with it.

We quickly set to work and removed all the obvious solids, then we applied disinfectants and deodorisers to the area, before removing all the remaining fluid with our special machine.

The whole area was then fully dried, and another application of disinfectant / sanitiser applied, leaving the area like new and safe for the staff of the cafe again.

As you may have noticed there are no images on this post, this is just in case your eating your lunch!

If you need a biohazard clean performing, we offer these as part of our Industrial Cleaning Services, please feel free to contact us for a no obligation quotation!

Block paving cleaned of moss in CheltenhamWe offer block paving cleaning and services which include removal of chewing gum etc. from floors. This week we cleaned a large area of block paving in Cheltenham that had become covered in moss within all the joints. As you can see in the image the paving before the ballard has been cleaned, after the ballard is yet to be done, and the difference is huge!

Over the winter months moss quickly grows on block paving, and this quickly removes the moss and brings it all back to how it should be.

Dirty air vent in need of high level cleaning

Air Vent Prior To cleaning

This week Starlight Cleaning has been contracted in to do a high level clean at Spirax Sarco in Cheltenham. We are using a Cherry Picker and IPAF qualified staff to clean all the beams, pipes, air vents and walls at night when the plant is closed as this causes little to no interference to the daily running of a very busy plant.

Over time, daily running of manufacturing plants and workshops produces dust that accumulates on pipes and beams within the ceiling space of workshops. This may not seem like a problem at first, but this dust can frequently come away and drop onto work spaces, landing on freshly painted surfaces and can cause other contaminations, potentially costing thousands. Another issue with having built up dust is that whenever an air current passes over dust, the particles are picked up and circulated within the air. This can cause all sorts of  breathing implications for staff working within the area, which can cause sickness and time off work, ultimately costing more money.
